Debra L. (Carter) Brown, 56, Grainfield, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at her home.

She was born Feb. 17, 1957, in Wichita to Floyd Earl and Mary Edding (Ward) Carter.

She was a graduate of Campus High School, Haysville, and earned an associate's degree in secretarial science.

She married Gerry W. Brown on May 25, 1991, in Colby. She was co-owner with her husband of B&B Oil Tools in Grainfield.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; a son, Chad D. Hanna, Grainfield; a step-son, Jarrod Brown, Boulder, Colo.; a step-daughter, Heather Renas, Aurora, Colo; her mother, Mary Carter, Atwood; two brothers, Danny Carter, Grainfield, and David Carter, Atwood; four grandchildren; her mother-in-law, Lillie Brown, Attica; and a special aunt, JoAnn Carter, Mayflower, Ark.

She as preceded in death by a son, Shawn Spencer.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Schmitt Funeral Home, Quinter.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Debra Brown Memorial Fund in care of Schmitt Funeral Home, 901 S. Main, Quinter, KS 67752.
