Della Jean Ohlemeier, 89, WaKeeney, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital, WaKeeney.

She was born April 14, 1924, near Macksville to Herman W. Cramer and Margaret E. Howell.

She married Merlin Ohlemeier on Nov. 10, 1951, in La Crosse. He preceded her in death Nov. 24, 2012. She was a U.S. Navy Waves veteran, serving from 1944 to 1946.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Ohlemeier, Lawrence, and Jay Ohlemeier, Hays; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Joel D. Ohlemeier; and an infant son, Merlin Scott Ohlemeier.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Ogallah Christian Church; inurnment at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Kansas Veterans Cemetery, with military rites by the U.S. Navy.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Schmitt Funeral Home, WaKeeney.

Memorials are suggested to Ogallah Christian Church in care of the funeral home.
