Donald Blaine Bechard
Donald Blaine Bechard, 52, Gardner, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, at Kansas City Hospice Center.
He was born Oct. 2, 1955, in Oakley to Armond Sr. and Adeline (Kepka) Bechard. He earned a degree in secondary education from Fort Hays State University.
He married Jan Rumford on July 4, 1987, in Norton. He was a teacher and high school coach at Scandia (Pike Valley), Norton, Manhattan and Gardner-Edgerton High Schools.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Connor; two daughters Lauren and Addison, of the home; his mother, Grinnell; four brothers, Harold Bechard, Salina, Richard Bechard, Overland Park, Raymond Bechard, Lawrence, and Armond Bechard Jr., Topeka; and two sisters, Charla Moos, Grinnell, and Mary Beth Nelson, Tonganoxie.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gardner; burial in St. Columbia Catholic Cemetery.
Additional service will be at 7 p.m. at the Gardner Edgerton High School auditorium.
Friends can call from 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the auditorium.
A rosary will be at 6 p.m. at the auditorium.
Memorials are suggested to Don Bechard Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of Bruce Funeral Home.

Sorry to hear of the passing of my cousin. I have fond memories of him and his brothers at reunions in my youth. May he rest in peace.
