Donald Leiker, 74, Hays, died Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, at his home.
He was born March 13, 1935, in Hays to Alois Peter and Martha (Windholz) Leiker.
He married Royalan (Grubb) on April 20, 1954, in Hays. He worked for Central Kansas Power for eight years, Procter and Gamble for 24 years and retired in 1994. After retirement, he worked for Bel Air Realty and drove cars for several dealerships. He spent his lifetime in the Hays area.
He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and St. Joseph Knights of Columbus Council No. 1325.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; three sons, Derek Leiker and Pam, Meade, Joe Leiker and Cathy, Topeka, and Craig Leiker and Julie, Huntersville, N.C.; a daughter, Krista Gottschalk and Chris, Hays; a brother, Harvey Leiker and Ronnie, Springs, Texas; a sister, Charleen Alexander and Roger, eight grandchildren, Kinni Piche' and Cory, Jared Leiker, Caleb Leiker, T.J. Gottschalk and Megan, Luke Gottschalk and Jessica, Katelyn Gottschalk, Amber Leiker and Molly Leiker; and two great-grandchildren, Teagan Gottschalk and Keaton Piche'.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Cline's Mortuary of Hays, 1919 E. 22nd, Hays, KS 67601, and from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
A vigil will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday, followed by a St. Joseph Knights of Columbus rosary at 7 p.m., both at the mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hays Medical Center or Dreiling-Schmidt Cancer Center.
