Doris L. VanAllen-Allen, 87, Phillipsburg, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, at Phillips County Retirement Center, Phillipsburg.

She was born March 3, 1922, in Phillips County to Noah and Hazel (King) Crown.

She married Leland VanAllen on Sept. 11, 1945, in Phillipsburg. He preceded her in death Feb. 25, 1992. She later married Lyle Allen on Dec. 16, 1995, in McPherson. She served as clerk of the district court in Phillips County.

Survivors include her husband, Phillipsburg; a son, Robert VanAllen, Albuquerque, N.M.; two daughters, Barbara Polfer, Leawood, and Jeri Schmid, Agra; a sister, Wilma McDowell, Bellevue, Neb.; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Christian Church, Phillipsburg; burial in Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg.

Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today with family present from 7 to 8 p.m. at Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg.

Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church or hospice services in care of the funeral home.
