Dorothy Anita (Ahrens) Foster, 87, Natoma, died Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Redbud Village, Plainville.

She was born Dec. 5, 1925, in rural Osborne County to Paul Conrad and Amanda Julie (Eickhoff) Ahrens. She attended Belleville Country School.

She married Charles Dean Foster on Feb. 13, 1946, in Russell. He preceded her in death. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Chuck Foster, West Des Moines, Iowa, and Larry Foster, Wilson; three daughters, Karen Blank, Smith Center, Susi Clark, Natoma, and Carol Gotsche, Great Bend; a brother, Hobie Ahrens, San Francisco; a sister, Elaine Girvan, Bend, Ore.; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Roger; and a grandson.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Peace Lutheran Church, Natoma.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m. at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, Natoma.

Memorials are suggested to Peace Lutheran Church, Peace Lutheran Guild or Redbud Village in care of the funeral home.
