Dr. Duane Sharp

Dr. Duane Sharp, Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., formerly of Hays, and faculty member at Fort Hays State University, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012.
He was a faculty member of the Department of Biological Science and Agriculture from 1970 to 1976 and served as superintendent of the College Farm from 1974 to 1976. He initiated an intercollegiate livestock judging team, chartered a chapter of the National Block and Bridle Club and upgraded the quality of the livestock and teaching facilities for the College Farm. He retired from Cal-Poly Pomona in 1998.
Survivors include a son, Marty, Cody, Wyo.; and a daughter, Keri Mackie, Lake Arrowhead, Calif.
