Edith E. (Shafer) Foster, 91, Quinter, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013.

She was born Feb. 17, 1922, in Sheridan County to Morris and Viva Shafer.

She was a homemaker and former teacher.

Survivors include five sons, Morris Foster and wife, Irene, and Jack Foster and wife, Dee, all of Grainfield, Carl Foster and wife, Tonya, Springfield, Ore., Jerry Foster and wife, Patty, and Rick Foster and fiancee, Rachel Mapps, all of Jennings; three daughters, Linda Dible and husband, Gayle, and Jana Hensley, all of Oakley, and Joyce Virgil and husband, Brian, Garden City; 20 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Donna Osborn; a brother, Ralph Shafer; and a grandson, Lee Hensley.

Services were Tuesday at United Methodist Church, Jennings; burial in Jennings Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Jennings American Legion, Fire Department and EMTs, in care of Pauls Funeral Home, Oberlin.
