Edna Cooksey, 88, Park, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014, at Gove County Medical Center-Long Term Care, Quinter.

She was born Aug. 14, 1926, in Park to Alex and Matilda (Billinger) Kraft. She attended Park schools and Marymount College.

She married Robert E. Cooksey on June 9, 1947, in Park. He preceded her in death Dec. 15, 1999. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include three sons, Randy, Oakley, John, Grandview, Texas, and Richard, Wichita; four daughters, Karen Scott, Park, Cheryl Remington and Leann Evans, both of Gove, and Mary Gormley, Grainfield; 27 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Kenny and Jim; and a grandson.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Park; burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Schmitt Funeral Home, Quinter.

A vigil/rosary will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Gove County Ambulance Service or Jay Johnson Library in care of the funeral home.
