Edna Dorene (Walt) Arnold

Edna Dorene (Walt) Arnold, 76, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2104, at Trego Manor, WaKeeney.

She was born Nov. 21, 1937, in Quinter to Antone and Leocadia Walt. She attended grade school at Banner Country School. After she graduated, she joined the I.C. Convent in Great Bend, where she earned her high school diploma. In 1962, she earned a bachelor's degree in nursing. Then in 1967, she advanced her education by earning a master's degree.

She married George Dagley "Dag" Arnold on Feb. 6, 1976, in Cleveland. He preceded her in death. They moved to Fort Wayne, Ind., where she was the administrator of the V.A. Hospital until retirement.

Survivors include two brothers, LaVern Arnold, Collyer, and Albert, Ness City.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Collyer; burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Schmitt Funeral Home, WaKeeney.

A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Trego Manor in care of Schmitt Funeral Home, 336 N. 12th, WaKeeney, KS 67672.
