Edna E. Wegele, 90, Ness City, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at Avita Health and Rehabilitation Center, Wichita.

She was born April 12, 1923, in Barton County to John and Pauline (Popp) Maier.

She married Paul Wegele on May 7, 1944, in Milberger. He preceded her in death June 28, 2001. She was a bank officer.

She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Lutheran Ladies Aide, Bazine, and Lutheran Hour Ministries. She was a lifetime resident of Ness County, coming from Barton County in 1929.

Survivors include many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Nadine Oppliger; and two brothers, Julius and Marvin Maier.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Bazine; burial in Bazine Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City.

Memorials are suggested to St. Luke Lutheran Church or Ness County Bank Building in care of the funeral home.
