Edna Rueschhoff Schippers

Edna Rueschhoff Schippers, 90, Oakely, died Feb. 3, 2014, at Logan County Hospital, Oakley.

She was born July 30, 1923, in Hoxie to Roy and Ora Mae (Parker) Latham.

She married Dave B. Rueschhoff on April 8, 1942, in Seguin. He preceded her in death. She later married Herman Schippers on Aug. 30, 2003, in Oakley. He preceded her in death. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include three daughters, Kathy Crothers, Fayetteville, Ark., Barb Broeckelman and husband, Lee, Grinnell, and Carolyn Robben, Oakley; a sister, Genevie Grand, Sacramento; a brother-in-law, George Stone, Sag Harbor, Wash.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sons-in-law, Bud Crothers and Mark Robben; two sisters, Nina "Ty" Stone and Lorraine Clark; and a brother, Howard "Huck" Latham.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Oakley; burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Grinnell.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Kennedy-Koster Funeral Home, Oakley.

A wake will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Logan County Healthcare Foundation or Tammy Walker Cancer Center, Salina, in care of the funeral home.
