Edward Clayton Hoover, 71, Fort Dodge, formerly of WaKeeney, died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at Kansas Soldiers Home, Fort Dodge.

He was born Sept. 6, 1941, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Floyd C. and Grace Irene (Jordan) Hoover.

He married Mary on March 4, 1967. He worked at Enersys in Hays until his retirement. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

Survivors include numerous friends and extended family.

A memorial committal service will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Kansas Veterans Cemetery, WaKeeney; cremation has taken place.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials are suggested to Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital, Kansas Soldiers Home or the donor's choice in care of Schmitt Funeral Home, 336 N. 12th, WaKeeney, KS 67672.
