Eileen Doane, 96, Downs, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013.

She was born Feb. 1, 1917, in Downs to Gideon and Ruth (Goheen) Walter.

She organized the Osborne County Red Cross volunteers.

She was a member of Rose Valley United Methodist Church, Downs.

Survivors include four sons, Keith Doane and wife, Marsha, Gary Doane and wife, Glennys, and Steve Doane and wife, Heidi, all of Downs, and Brent Doane and wife, Linda, Portis; a sister, Maebeth Walter, Downs; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, in 1984; two brothers, Lloyd Walter and Chet Walter; and a sister, Lucile Freeborn.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Rose Valley UMC, Downs; burial in Downs Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the church or Osborne County Red Cross volunteers in care of Domoney Funeral Home, Downs.
