Elnora Schwien, 93, Ness City, died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at Ness County Hospital, Ness City.

She was born Oct. 19, 1919, in Bazine to Henry and Elizabeth (Strecker) Schneider.

She married Edward Schwien on April 15, 1945, in Bazine. He preceded her in death March 11, 2005. She was a cook at Bazine High School.

Survivors include a son, Danny Schwien and wife, Carol, Ness City; a daughter, Mary Barnes and husband, Marvin, Wichita; a brother, Lloyde Schneider; three sisters, Catherine Barnes, Alta Weigel and Amelia Michaelis; four grandchildren, Crystal Wells and husband, Jay, Trish Lewton and husband, Bill, Darin Barnes and wife, Adina, and Jennifer Willrath and husband, Matthew; and five great-grandchildren, Jaelynn Wells, Jacqueline and Rebecca Lewton, and Katelyn and Chase Willrath.

She was preceded in death by six brothers, Dean, Raymond, Victor, Clarence, John and Ruben; and four sisters, Ruth Gerhardt, Viola Maier, Edna Propp and Helen Stephens.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul Congregational Church, Bazine; burial in Bazine Cemetery.

Visitation will be until 9 p.m. Friday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City.

Memorials are suggested to St. Paul Congregational Church, Bazine, or Cedar Village Long Term Care, Ness City, in care of the funeral home.
