Elva Jo Benson
Elva Jo Benson, 78, Colby, formerly of Madison, Norcatur, and Rexford, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, at Citizens Medical Center, Colby.
She was born Feb. 28, 1930, near Hoxie to Joseph O. and Elva (Harris) Timmons.
She married Ben Schiek. He preceded her in death. She later married Earl Benson. He preceded her in death. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include four sons, Spencer Schieck, Temecula, Calif., Stuart Schieck, Rexford, Tom Benson, Colby and Mike Benson, Hays; a daughter, Coleen Mackey, Rexford; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mickey-Leopold Chapel, Hoxie; burial in Rexford Cemetery.
Visitation will be until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Prairie Living Senior Center, Colby, in care of the funeral home.
