Emily Brooks (Matzke) Neu, 80, Cozad, Neb., formerly of Lexington, Neb., died Sunday, March 7, 2010, at Golden Living Center, Cozad.
She was born Sept. 25, 1929, at Ogden, Utah, to William Joseph Brooks and Gladys Irene Avery. She was a 1947 graduate of Englewood High School.
She married Warren Richard "Dick" Matzke on May 25, 1947. The couple were in the ministry as pastor and wife for almost 30 years. He preceded her in death in 1985. She later married Cecil Neu in 1996. He preceded her in death in 2008.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Matzke, Ellis, and Pastor Russell Matzke, Walsh, Colo.; a daughter, Pam Carlton, Colby; two sisters, Beverly Robinson, Denver, and Jeannine DeGarmo, Rocksboro Park, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services were today at Berean Bible Church, Lexington; burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Foundation or Maranatha Bible Camp in care of Reynolds-Love Funeral Home, Lexington.
