Emma Helen 'Dutch' Ochs

Emma Helen "Dutch" Ochs, 91, Hoxie, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at Sheridan County Health Center, Hoxie.

She was born June 21, 1921, north of Park in Sheridan County to Philip H. and Mary M. (Taylor) Gallagher.

She married Clement Anton Ochs on Aug. 18, 1941, in Park. He preceded her in death June 3, 1994.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Ochs and Dan Ochs, both of Grainfield; two daughters, Carol Geerdes and Deanna Kennedy, both of Hoxie; a brother, Frank Gallagher, Hoxie; nine grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Hoxie; burial in St. Frances Cabrini Cemetery, Hoxie.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with family receiving friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home, P.O. Box 987, Hoxie, KS 67740.

A vigil will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Sheridan County Health Complex in care of the funeral home.
