Ernest W. 'Ernie' Caswell, 86, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, in Mission Viejo, Calif.

He was born on Nov. 4, 1923, in Logan County to William and Frances (Hall) Caswell.

He was a chemical trader with Phillips Petroleum Co. and a farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley, Laguna Woods, Calif.; a son, Lynn Caswell, Laguna Niguel, Calif.; a daughter, Sandra Ward, Lawton, Okla.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Caswell, and a sister, Nellie Reid.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Kennedy-Koster Funeral Home, Oakley. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church, Laguna Woods, Calif., and Mission Hospital Foundation, Mission Viejo, Calif., in care of the funeral home.
