Eugene W. Robben, 91, Gorham, died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at Golden Living Center, Wilson.

He was born Jan. 20, 1922, in Walker to Henry M. and Elizabeth (Wagner) Robben. He was raised by his aunt, Hortensia Baumrucker, and family Mike and Gertrude Jacobs in Gorham.

He married Margie L. Lipes on April 26, 1945, in Riverside, Calif. She preceded him in death on October 17, 2011.

He was an automotive mechanic in Gorham working for Sam's Garage and also owned his own mechanic shop, Gene's Motor Service in Gorham. He later worked for NAPA Auto Parts in Russell.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, both of Gorham.

Survivors include his sons, Eugene W. Robben Jr. and wife, Janice, Topeka, Scott Robben, Kansas City, Mo., and Michael Robben and companion, Patrick L. Onorato, Wichita; two daughters, Kathleen M. Sewell, Texas, and Gail E. Wade and husband, Russell, Wade, Texas; a sister, Bernadette Hand, McPherson; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Wilfred, Robert, Elmer, Paul and Gilbert; a sister, Mary Ann Robben; and a half-sister, Eleanor Robben.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Gorham; inurnment will follow services in St. Mary's Cemetery, Gorham.

Brock's North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601, is in charge of arrangements.

Family will be present to greet friends from 10 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home.
