Eunice LaVada McGinnis

Eunice LaVada McGinnis, 88, Ransom, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at Rhode Island Suites in Ransom.
She was born May 18, 1925, on the farm near Brownell to Arthur and Sabina (Gustason) McGinnis.
She left Brownell after graduating from Brownell High School in 1943 and went to Kansas City, where she worked for North American Aviation driving rivits to build B-24 Liberator Heavy Bomber planes during World War II. She later worked for BeechCraft and as an insurance agent in Wichita. She bred and cared for Dachshunds for many years. In 1987, she moved back to Brownell, where she lived for 20 years before moving to Rhode Island Suites.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers: Vernard, James, Merlin and Marlin McGinnis; sisters Bernice Sidebottom, Ethel Sunley, Ruby McGinnis and Elvira McGinnis.
Burial and graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Vansburgh Cemetery, Brownell. Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday.
