Eva Helen Hillman Williams, 97, died Tuesday, April 2, 2014, at Hays Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 10, 1916, in rural Trego County to Jacob and Katharina (Kerth) Armbruster. She attended Pleasant Ridge Grammar School, Ellis High School, and was a 1935 graduate of Trego Community High School.

She married Harvey L. Hillman on Feb. 7, 1937, in Ellis. He preceded her in death March 11, 1975. She later married Howard R. Williams on Aug. 9, 1980, in WaKeeney. He preceded her in death. She was the Trego County Register of Deeds for 18 years, retiring in 1978.

Survivors include two daughters, Peggy McNeal-Margheim, Russell, and Nancy Dietz, Estes Park, Colo.; a stepson, Richard Williams, Weatherford, Texas; two sisters, Martha Mai, Wichita, and Loretta Wilson, Mankato; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Karen Cernik; and a step-granddaughter.

A family hosted celebration of life will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, WaKeeney; inurnment in WaKeeney City Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or Trego County Long Term Care in care of Schmitt Funeral Home, WaKeeney.
