Evelyn Lorene Neuburger, 89, Topeka, died Friday, March 28, 2014, at Midland Hospice, Topeka.
She was born Dec. 15, 1924, in Gasville, Ark., to Claude and Flossie Mullins. She attended schools throughout Oklahoma and Kansas. She graduated from Red Rock High School in Oklahoma.
She married Ted Neuburger on Jan. 21, 1947, in Ellis. During World War II, she worked at Tinker Air Base in Oklahoma City and was a student at Edmond State College. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pratt, and several bridge clubs in Pratt,
She was an avid reader, crossword-puzzle solver, golfer and sports fan.
Survivors include her husband, Auburn; her children, Loretta Dreiling and husband, Gene, Hays, Mike Neuburger and wife, Mary, Lenexa, Jo Neuburger, Cherryvale, Rick Neuburger and wife, Cathy, Pratt, Ted Neuburger and wife, Mina, Auburn, Rose Wirick and husband, Randy, Stillwell, Jean Ewing and husband, Rob, Olathe, and Jackie Harmon and husband, Duke, Manhattan; a sister, Marie Roberts, Hutchinson; and a daughter-in-law, Donna Neuburger, Springfield, Mo.; 20 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant sons; two children, Larry Neuburger and Kris Neuburger; and a sister, Loretta Wilhelm.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pratt; inurnment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Larrison Mortuary, Pratt.
A rosary/vigil will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to South Wind Hospice in care of the mortuary.
