Fern Ruth Delaney

Fern Ruth Delaney, 95, Ness City, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at Ness County Hospital.

She was born July 14, 1917, southwest of Bazine to Clayton W. and LuLu E. Kirpatrick Libby. She attended the Bonnie View Country School and received her GED in 1972.

She married Homer Delaney on March 3, 1934, in Kinsley. He preceded her in death Sept. 2003. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of United Methodist Church, Ness City.

Survivors include a son, Earl Gene Delaney and wife, Judy, Ness City; a daughter, Sharon K. Munsch; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by daughter, Shirley R. Dechant; a son, Homer C. "Jake" Delaney; a brother, Hubert C. Libby; a daughter-in-law, Darlene Delaney; a son-in-law, LeRoy Munsch; a grandson, Stephan R. Dechant; and a great-grandson, Chris E. Rupp.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City; burial in Ness City Cemetery.

Friends can call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday, all at funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Cedar Village Long Term Care in care of the funeral home.
