Flora Marie Zerfas, 89, Cimarron, formerly of Ellis, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City.
She was born April 6, 1923, in Ellis to William E. and Elizabeth (Wolbach) Bowen. She graduated from Ellis High School.
She married Raymond Zerfas on May 25, 1941, in Ellis. He preceded her in death Dec. 31, 2008. She was a homemaker and worked for the National Fish Hatchery at Cedar Bluff as a typist/clerk for more than 20 years.
She was a member of Ellis United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Domestic Arts Club.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting and painting.
Survivors include a son, Larry Zerfas, WaKeeney; a daughter, Connie Lynn and husband, Vyrl, Cimarron; a sister-in-law, Loretta Jacobs, Apple Valley, Calif.; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James Bowen; a step-brother, Harry Bowen; and a sister, Helen Ruth Zerfas.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Ellis United Methodist Church; burial in Mount Hope Cemetery, Ellis.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Keithley Funeral Chapel, 400 E. 17th, Ellis, KS 67637, and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Monday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to Ellis United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
