Frances Germaine (Schauf) Baker

Frances Germaine (Schauf) Baker, 95, Derby, formerly of Russell and Bunker Hill, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014.

She was born Oct. 4, 1918, in Billings, Mont., to John C. and Mary E. (Pember) Schauf. She was salutatorian of the 1936 Bunker Hill High School class and graduated from Sacramento Business College with a degree in business.

She married Joseph A. Baker on Sept. 5, 1965, in Minden, Neb. He preceded her in death Dec. 13, 1996. She later married Dean Missimer in 2004. He preceded her in death in May 2006. She was a secretary for several businesses and retired from Sacramento Municipal Utility District in 1976.

Survivors include a sister, Regina E. Pines, Maryland.

Private services will be at a later date in Dubuque Cemetery.

Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, Russell, is in charge of arrangements.
