Frances M. (Terry) Matheson

Frances M. (Terry) Matheson, 97, Russell, formerly of Natoma, died Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at Wheatland Nursing Center, Russell.

She was born April 23, 1916, in Waldo to Lester W. and Anna Marie (Bodmer) Terry. She was a graduate of Waldo High School. She attended Fort Hays State University, where she obtained a degree in education.

She married Raymond Alvin Matheson on April 2, 1937, in Phillipsburg. He preceded her in death. She taught second grade at Natoma Grade School.

Survivors include a son, Alvin Matheson, Russell; two daughters, Patty Dale and Marthana Reynolds, both of Russell; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Larry D.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Russell; graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Natoma City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, with family present from 6 to 7 p.m. at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, Russell.

Memorials are suggested to Natoma United Methodist Church in care of the mortuary.
