Frances V. Cox, 94, Alton, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at Osborne County Memorial Hospital, Osborne.

She was born Aug. 22, 1919, in Gaylord to Frank D. and Anges (McClain) Thompson.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include a son, Dee Cox, Alton; three daughters, JoAnn Putnam, Downs, Marjorie Bales, Osborne, and Mary McKay, San Antonio; a foster son, Bob Cates, Alton; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Cox, in 1990; a son, Charles Cox Jr. in 2005; a daughter, Barbara Snedker, in 2011; and a great-granddaughter.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Alton United Methodist Church; burial in Sumner Cemetery, Alton.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Clark-Gashaw Mortuary, Osborne.

Memorials are suggested to United Methodist Church, Alton, in care of the mortuary.
