Fred G. Dietz
Fred G. Dietz, 97, WaKeeney, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, at Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital Long Term Care.
He was born June 18, 1911, in rural Trego County to Henry G. and Anna Elizabeth (Schmidt) Dietz. He was a 1931 graduate of Trego Community High School.
He married Esther (Phares) Dietz on Nov. 19, 1939, in Hays. She preceded him in death Nov. 15, 2004. He was owner/operator of a grocery store.
Survivors include a son, Dennis Dietz, Polk City, Iowa; a daughter, Vicki Krehbiel, Dighton; a brother, David Dietz, Minneapolis; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, WaKeeney; burial in WaKeeney City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Schmitt Funeral Home, WaKeeney.
Memorials are suggested to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital Long Term Care in care of the funeral home.
