Galen H. McGarvey, 78, Winona, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at Logan County Hospital, Oakley.

He was born Nov. 27, 1934, in Hopeland, Pa., to Peter and Daisy (Putt) McGarvey.

He married Donna Rogers on May 9, 1964, in Lebanon, Pa. He was a railroad engineer for Redding Railroad in Pennsylvania.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; four sons, Dennis, Gary and Steve McGarvey, all of Lebanon, and Greg McGarvey, North Carolina; two daughters, Sandra Herr, Palmyra, Pa., and Gale Welan, Annville, Pa.; a sister, Jenny Potkul, Colby; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda McGarvey.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Kennedy-Koster Funeral Home, Oakley; burial in Winona Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Oakley Country Chapel in care of the funeral home.
