Gerald D. 'Jerry' Stithem, 69, Stockton, died Thursday, July 2, 2009, at Solomon Valley Manor, Stockton.

He was born Nov. 15, 1939, in Zurich to Clifford and Rosalie (Smee) Stithem. He graduated from Palco High School and Brown-Mackie College, Salina.

He married Edna Mae Fry on June 7, 1970, in Plainville. He worked for John E. Jones for more than 20 years.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Mike Stithem, Stockton; six daughters, Doris Willey, Goddard, Darlene Walker, Stockton, Dorothy Plante, Phillipsburg, Michelle Gaddy, Clara City, Minn., Dixie Dibble, Woodston and Melissa DeBey, Excelsior Springs, Mo.; his mother, Salina,; two brothers, Gene Stithem and Jack Stithem, both of Salina; a sister, Reta Cain, Salina; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Smith-Moore-Overlease Funeral Home, Stockton; burial in Zurich Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, both at the funeral home.

Memorials are to be designated later in care of the funeral home.
