Gerald Edward Offutt, 70, Quinter, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2103, at Gove County Medical Center Long Term Care, Quinter.

He was born Aug. 13, 1943, in Dighton to Glenn and Pauline Marie (Munstedt) Offutt.

He had been married to Norma Jean (Bongartz) Offutt for 27 years. He was a carpenter most of his life.

He was a past president of Lions Club, Utica, a member of the Utica Library Board, Knights of Columbus, the volunteer fire department and an EMT in La Crosse. He was a very religious man.

Survivors include a son, Justin Offutt and wife, Khristy, Charles Town, W.Va.; a daughter, Angela Gleason and husband, Kenton, Jetmore; three brothers, Norman Offutt and wife, Anita, Dumas, Texas, Kent Offutt and wife, Jeri, Coldwater, Kevin Offutt and wife, Gwen, Healy; a sister, Marla Edwards and husband, Bill, Cassoday; eight grandchildren, Jenessa Butterbaugh and husband, Will, Jeremey Offutt, Steven Offutt, Avonlea Tepe, Preston Offutt, Felicity Tepe, Madeline Offutt and Reese Gleason; and a great-grandchild, Aldyn Butterbaugh.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son-in-law, Bret Tepe.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Christian Church, Utica; cremation will follow the service.

Viewing will be until 9 p.m, Wednesday, with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City.

Memorials are suggested to North Ness County Ministerial Alliance in care of the funeral home.
