Gerald H. Shipley, 91, Oakley, died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at his home.

He was born Nov. 13, 1921, near Orion in Gove County to Dewey and Iva (Miller) Shipley.

He married Lillian Ludlow on Aug. 15, 1940. She preceded him in death in 1995. He later married Betty Eaton on Aug. 10, 1996. He was a farmer.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; three daughters, Carrol Baker and husband, Don, Towanda, Linda Schafer and Stan Anderson, Lincoln, and Charla Shipley and Mike Campbell, El Dorado; three stepsons, Eugene Eaton and wife, Jean Kay, Des Moines, Iowa, Skip Eaton and wife, Mary, Sarasota, Fla., and Marc Eaton and wife, Jan, Nashville, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and extended family, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Church; burial in Gaeland Cemetery, Orion.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Kennedy-Koster Funeral Home, Oakley.

A rosary/wake will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the church, or Hospice of Phillipsburg in care of the funeral home.
