Gladys A. Troyer, 90, Quinter, formerly of Hutchinson, died Sunday, June 30, 2013, at Gove County Medical Center Long Term Care, Quinter.

She was born Jan. 31, 1923, in Wilburton to Alfred and Mable Tweedy Burton.

She married LaVern Troyer on Sept. 25, 1941, in Howard. He preceded her in death Nov. 24, 1992. She was a caregiver for a nursing home most of her life.

She was a member of the Journey at South Hutchinson Church and attended Church of the Brethren, Quinter.

Survivors include her children, Don and Dona Troyer, Lakewood, Colo., Duayne Troyer, Goodman, Mo., Tharen and Harry Herl, Collyer, Karen and Mike Coldren, Wichita, and Al and Janell Troyer, Tonganoxie; a daughter-in-law, Carol Troyer, Owasso, Okla.; a brother-in-law, David Troyer Jr., South Hutchinson; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Larry Troyer; three brothers, Kenneth, Robert and Fred Burton; and a sister, Cleo May Stapleford.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Journey at South Hutchinson Church; burial at 2 p.m. Friday in Hunt Cemetery, rural Kingman.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m., both at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Hutchinson.

Memorials are suggested to Gove County Medical Center Auxiliary or Hospice Service Inc, Phillipsburg, both in care of the funeral home.
