Gladys Lee (Dole) Friesen, 95, Russell, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at Great Bend Regional Hospital.

She was born Aug. 2, 1917, in Russell to Robert Grant and Margaret (Bannister) Dole. She attended Pioneer School.

She married Carl C. Friesen on Jan. 7, 1938, in Russell. He preceded her in death Feb. 21, 1995. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include a son, Steve Friesen, Bonita Springs, Fla.; three daughters, Peggy Barringer, Port O'Connor, Texas, Connie Krug, Russell, and Terri McKown, Valley Center; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a step-grandchild; and a step-great-grandchild.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Russell; burial in Russell City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, with family present to greet friends from 6 to 7 p.m. at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, Russell.

Memorials are suggested to Trinity United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund in care of the mortuary.
