Glen Royal Brown, 91, Hoxie, died Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Sheridan County Long Term Care, Hoxie.

He was born Dec. 4, 1922, in rural Sheridan County to Willie Wade and Sarah Rebecca (Simon) Brown.

He married Molly (Nichols) Brown on Nov. 2, 1953, in Morehead, Ky. He was a farmer and had a custom havesting business. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving from November 1943 to April 1946 during World War II in the South Pacific.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; three sons, Dale Brown, Terry Brown and Mickey Brown, all of Hoxie; 12 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church; burial will be at 1:30 p.m. in Hoxie City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, with family receiving friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home, Hoxie.

Memorials are suggested to Sheridan County Fair Board or Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
