Glenn A. Cookson, 83, WaKeeney, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at Hays Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 2, 1930, in East St. Louis, Ill., to Joseph and Irma (Gohs) Cookson.

He married Darlene Mavis Dotterer on Oct. 5, 1956. She preceded him in death April 20, 2012. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a heating and air-conditioning technician, and an electrician.

Survivors include two daughters, Debra Carrell, Pittsburg, and Irene Dirks, WaKeeney; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday at Schmitt Funeral Home, WaKeeney; private inurnment will be in Kansas Veterans Cemetery, WaKeeney.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials are suggested to the Masonic Scholarship Fund in care of Schmitt Funeral Home, 336 N. 12th, WaKeeney, KS 67672.
