Gloria Cleo (Ramaker) Garey, 83, Downs, died Tuesday, March 26, 2013.

She was born March 23, 1930, in rural Downs to Henry and Sue (Eggink) Ramaker.

She married Meryl George Garey on Aug. 30, 1951. She worked in the school library and as a teacher's aide.

She was a member of United Methodist Church, Downs, where she played in the bell choir, served as secretary for the UM Women and co-chaired the Lord's Acre Fundraiser for more than 20 years. She volunteered at the local food bank.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; two daughters, Gia Moser and husband, Rick, St. Charles, Ill., and Ginna Sharp and husband, Brian, Downs; eight grandchildren, Abbey Dodson, Aeriel Dodson, Chace Weis, Coe Weis, Clayton Sharp, Emily Moser, Nicholas Moser and Matt Moser; a brother-in-law, Ray DeJong; a niece, Shawn DeJong; and a great-nephew, Jeremy DeJong, Denver.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley DeJong.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, Downs.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Meryl and Gloria Garey Lakeside High School Scholarship Fund in care of Domoney Funeral Home, Downs.
