Harley G. McGough, 81, Plainville, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Redbud Village, Plainville.

He was born April 11, 1932, in El Dorado, Ark., to Sid and Nell (Alphin) McGough.

He married Verlie (Friesen) McGough on Dec. 10, 1955, in Plainville. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Doug McGough, Overland Park, and Dave McGough, Topeka; a daughter, Dawn Rempe, Cartersville, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Southern Baptist Church, Plainville; burial in Pleasantview Cemetery, Palco, with military rites by Reeder-Dinkel-Westhusin VFW Post No. 8871.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday with the family receiving friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home, Plainville.

Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church of Plainville or Redbud Village in care of the funeral home.
