Henrietta Louise Tooker

Henrietta Louise "Henri" (Newell) Tooker, 66, Salina, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, at Salina Regional Health Center.

She was born April 23, 1942 in Damar to Fred E. and Marie E. (Knipp) Newell. She attended school in Damar. She received an associate's degree in business administration in Sacramento, Calif.

She married Jeffrey R. Tooker on Jan. 11, 1964. She worked at the Senior Center, Salina.

Survivors include two sons, Alfred Lynn Tooker and wife, Lorraine, Gardnerville, Nev., and Jeffrey Paul Tooker, San Antonio; a daughter, April Swagerty and husband, Jim, Allen, Texas; two brothers, LeRoy Newell, Salina, and Richard Newell, Ellis; four sisters, Wanita Hulett, Milford, Ethel Zrubek, Salina, Marlene Newell, Arizona, and Raenetta Munsterman, Atchison; seven grandchildren, Katherine, Daniel and Matthew, all of Gardnerville, Timothy and Kristen, both of San Antonio, and Madison and Emily, both of Allen, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Max Newell.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary Queen of the Universe Catholic Church; inurnment in All Saints Catholic Cemetery, Salina.

Memorials are suggested to the Senior Center, Salina, in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina, KS 67401.
