Herman J. Jacobs, 79, Dresden, died Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Kearney, Neb.

He was born March 16, 1933, in Decatur County to Raymond M. and Rose (Ritter) Jacobs.

He married Caroline (Reinert) Jacobs on June 23, 1956, in Seguin. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; three sons, Ron Jacobs and Todd Jacobs, both of Dresden, and Loren Jacobs, Colby; two daughters, Cheri Weber, Oakley, and Anna Caspersen, St. Libory, Neb.; four brothers, Norbert Jacobs, Elmer Jacobs, Gerald Jacobs and Paul Jacobs; a sister, Alverda Moellering; 13 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Leoville; burial in Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, Leoville, with military honors by Fort Riley Honor Guard.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home, Hoxie.

A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in care of the funeral home.
