Irene J. Legleiter, 94, Hays, died Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Via Christi Village, Hays.

She was born May 19, 1920, in Munjor to Matt and Clara (Ruder) Rohr.

She married Bernard Legleiter on June 2, 1941, in Liebenthal. He preceded her in death in October 1989. She was a homemaker.

She enjoyed bingo, card playing, cooking, sewing, quilting and traveling to European countries.

She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella.

Survivors include a son, Rick Legleiter, Raleigh, N.C.; three daughters, Judith Cool and husband, William, Houston, Betty McGavran and husband, Fred, St. Louis, and Jan Burtscher and husband, Art, Omaha; two brothers, Gene Rohr, Munjor, and Julius Rohr, Wichita; a sister, Lorene Pfeifer, St. Louis; five grandchildren, Tyler Burtscher, Michelle Seloover, Stephanie Dunshie, Marisa McGavran and Nicole McLaughlin; and five great-grandchildren, Jamie Seloover, Jacob Dunshie, Devin and Jenna Keau and Anna McLaughlin.

She was preceded in death by a son, Eugene Legleiter; three brothers, Clarence, Tony and Al Rohr; and a sister, Mary Ann Burgardt.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Brock's Funeral Home, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601, and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday at the church.

A Daughters of Isabella rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, followed by a vigil at 7 p.m., both at the funeral chapel.

Memorials are suggested to Meniere's Foundation for inner ear disorders in care of funeral home.
