James Lee (Smiley) Oliver

James Lee (Smiley) Oliver, 67, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Kendall Regional Medical Center, Miami, Fla.

He was born June 11, 1945, in Ransom to Edna and Lester Oliver Sr. He was a 1964 graduate of Ransom High School and went to Mechanics Automotive Technical Training School in Denver.

He married Robin Massey in Florida. She preceded him in death. He was an automotive body and paint repairman. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran serving in Vietnam from 1966 to 1968.

Survivors include a son, Jeremy; a daughter, Cameron; a brother-in-law, Greg Massey and wife, Julie Fister, Hillsborough, N.H.; a brother, Bill and wife, Frankie, Ransom; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lester Jr. and wife, Marty; and two nephews.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Ransom Cemetery with military honors.
