Janice Jo Schlageck, 76, Grinnell, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, at her home.

She was born May 19, 1937, in Monument to Carl and Lucille (Lunsford) Close.

She married Gale Schlageck on Jan. 19, 1957. She worked for Grinnell USD 291 as a secretary for 37 years.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Altar Society and Cow Patty Golf Course.

Survivors include her husband, Gale, Grinnell; three daughters, Kristeen Fellhoelter and husband, Jim, Oakley, Karla Pruitt and husband, Jan, and Karen Jacobs and husband, Bret, all of Hutchinson; a son, Peter Schlageck and wife, Kimberly, Colby; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Dalen Schlageck.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Grinnell; burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Parish Center, Grinnell. A vigil service will be at 7 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the Janice Schlageck Memorial Fund in care of Baalmann Mortuary, P.O. Box 204, Oakley, KS 67748.
