Jeanette D. (Hamilton) Gfeller, 86, Russell, formerly of Winona and Tonganoxie, died Monday, April 28, 2014, at Salina Regional Hospital.

She was born Oct. 17, 1927, in Boulder, Colo., to Lloyd Eugene and Dallas E. (Dodson) Hamilton. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School, Long Beach, Calif.

She married Harley Clayton Gfeller on Oct. 17, 1946, in Winona. He preceded her in death Nov. 28, 2005. She worked in medical records for Russell Regional Hospital, Dr. Merkel and Dr. Starkey's office, Dr. White and Dr. Pettijohn's office, and Dr. Sam's office, prior to retiring in 1989.

Survivors include three sons, Craig Gfeller, Olathe, Warren Gfeller and Ron Gfeller, both of Russell; two daughters, Gayle Gfeller, Booneville, Mo., and Anita Wiley, Russell; two sisters, Nancy Miller, Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Kerry Ann Date, Loveland, Colo.; 19 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Lloyd Gfeller and Roger Gfeller; and a granddaughter.

A celebration of her life will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church; private family inurnment will take place at a later date.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, with family present from 6 to 7 p.m., and from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday, both at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, Russell.

Memorials are suggested to Russell Regional Hospital in care of the mortuary.
