Jerome Benoit, 86, Damar, died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, at Graham County Hospital, Hill City.

He was born Feb. 10, 1926, in rural Damar to Armond and Theresa (Boucher) Benoit.

He married Theresa Bernice Thyfault on June 12, 1944, in Damar. She preceded him in death April 29, 2005. He was a dairy farmer. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II.

Survivors include two sons, Steve Benoit, Blair, Neb., and John Benoit, Damar; four daughters, Marilyn Skolaut, Olmitz, Judy Charboneau, Hays, Lydia Neu, Lawrence, and Thelma Berland, Damar; a brother, Richard Benoit, Damar; a sister, Zeta Gnad, Hays; 21 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Damar; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Damar.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Stinemetz Funeral Home, Hill City, and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Masses or Graham County Hospital in care of the funeral home.
