Jerome Windholz, 89, Victoria, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Hays Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 7, 1923, in Emmeram to Martin J. and Anna (Wasinger) Windholz.
He married Irene (Geist) on April 30, 1945, in Hays. She preceded him in death June 11, 2002. He was a farmer north of Emmeram on the family farm and moved to Victoria in 1976. He enjoyed gardening, playing pinochle, his family and grandchildren.
He was a member of St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria.
Survivors include a son, Alfred Windholz and wife, Judy, Victoria; a son-in-law, Larry Karlin, Phillipsburg; a daughter-in-law, Mary Catherine Windholz, Victoria; a brother, Walter Windholz, Longmont, Colo.; 11 grandchildren, Janine Kisner and husband, Jeff, Chris Windholz, Jared Windholz and wife, Andrea, Dan Windholz, Deanna Bombardier and husband, Ray, Denine Larson and husband, Eric, Darren Windholz, Dale Windholz and wife, Danielle, Aaron Karlin and wife, Dedra, Eric Karlin and wife, Cindy, and Brandon Karlin; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Marvin F. Windholz; a daughter, Mary Ann Karlin; three infant sons, Joseph, Cletus and John; two infant daughters, Mary and Ann; a grandson, Jason Karlin; four brothers, Frank, Fidelis, Bonaventure and Severin Windholz; and a sister, Barbara Pisterzi.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria; burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Emmeram.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday, both at Cline's Mortuary, 412 Main, Victoria, KS 67671.
A vigil will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to the Jerome Windholz family in care of the mortuary.
