Johanna Maurath

Johanna Maurath, 83, Dodge City, formerly of Larned, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008 at Sterling House, Dodge City.

She was born Aug. 3, 1925, in Sheridan County to Clem and Clara Zerr Haffner.

She married Stephen G. Maurath on Nov. 26, 1946, in Park. He preceded her in death July 25, 2003. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include a son, Ron Maurath, Wichita; a daughter, Lou Meyers, Dodge City; two brothers, George Haffner and Nick Haffner, both of Park; two sisters, Rose Sauer, Wichita, and Anna Mary Rohleder, Hays; two grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City; burial in Greencrest Memorial Gardens, Dodge City.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at Burkhart-Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City.

A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the chapel.

Memorials are suggested to Sacred Heart School Endowment in care of the chapel.
