John Frederick Thyfault, 80, Lake Barrington Shores, Ill., died Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012, in Lake Village, Ark.

He was born Feb. 28, 1931, in Zurich to Gilbert and Edith (Coupal) Thyfault.

He married Lois Ann (Buchbinder) Thyfault on Jan. 12, 1962. He preceded her in death Jan. 29, 2012. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving from January 1951 to October 1952.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Thyfault and Greg Thyfault, both of Barrington, Ill.; a daughter, Dione Ellice Cortez, Barrington; three sisters, Jane Cunnigham and Dorothy Hrabe, both of Stockton, and Frances Krahl, Salina; and six grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Stockton; burial in St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery, Stockton, with military honors by Stockton Veterans of Foreign Wars Barnes-Taylor Post No. 8873.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at Smith-Moore-Overlease Funeral Home, Stockton.

A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
