John Weber Jr., 90, Ellis, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at Hays Medical Center.

He was born April 10, 1922, in Trego County to John and Theresia (Augustine) Weber Sr.

He married Marcella Eberle on Sept. 26, 1944, in Ellis. She preceded him in death Jan. 11, 2004. He worked to build Cedar Bluff Lake, worked for many years at Fondoble Motor Sales in Ellis, and was a farmer all his life.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Ellis, and Ellis Third Degree Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include two sons, Les and wife, Gerri, Ellis, and Verlin and wife, Linda, Lawrence; two daughters, Phyllis Rupp, Ellis, and Becky Sook and husband, Richard, Hays; three sisters, Helen Pfeifer, Ellis, Katie Eberle, WaKeeney, and Theresia Aschenbrenner, Colby; 12 grandchildren, Rick Rupp, Sheri Krause and Dustin Vine, all of Ellis, Brenda Hawk, McPherson, Tammy Crist, Bourbonnais, Ill., Kevin Weber, Howard, Amy Reeh, Colby, Jodi Bendure and Troy Weber, both of Shawnee, Missy Hensley, Overland Park, Kerri Callaway, Clay Center, and Misty Lohmeyer, Hays; and 23 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death his by parents; four brothers, Ignatuis, Joe, Mike and Ambrose; three sisters, Anna Geist, Johana Weber and Josephine Weber; a great-grandson, Braden Reeh; and a son-in-law, Norman Rupp.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Ellis; burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church.

A Knights of Columbus rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, followed by a vigil, both at the church.

Memorials are suggested to St. Mary Catholic School or St Mary Church in care of Keithley Funeral Chapel, 400 E. 17th, Ellis, KS 67637.
